Born in France in 1943. He began working as a film critic for Cahiers du Cinéma. His feature film debut was “French Provincial” (1975), followed by films like “Rendez-Vous” (1985, 10th Mostra), winner of the best direction prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and “I Don’t Kiss” (1991). Mostra has screened his films “My Favorite Season” (1993), “Wild Reeds” (1994), winner of the César awards for best film and best direction, “Thieves” (1996), “Strayed” (2003), “The Witnesses” (2007), “Unforgivable” (2011) and “In the Name of My Daughter” (2014).
