Angela Christlieb

A German filmmaker, she studied video art and experimental filmmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts Berlin. After moving to New York with the support of an emerging artist grant, she began her career as an independent filmmaker, producing several shorts. Followed by work for Anthology Film Archives and Filmmakers Coop NY, as well as a teacher at UdK Berlin and Free University Berlin. Christlieb directed, among others, the feature films “Cinemania” (2002), “Urville” (2009) and “Whatever Happened to Gelitin” (2016), and she also made “Naked Opera” (2013), presented and awarded at the Berlinale.
