Born in Athens, Greece, in 1984. She studied theater at the University of Provence, France. Ariane won the best actress awards at the Venice International Film Festival for “Attenberg” (2010, 35th Mostra), directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari, and at the Locarno Film Festival for “Fidelio: Alice’s Odyssey” (2014), by Lucie Borleteau. She also acted in films like “Alps” (2011, 36th Mostra) and “The Lobster” (2015), directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, “Despite the Night” (2015), by Philippe Grandrieux, “The Souvenir” (2019) and “The Souvenir Part II” (2021), directed by Joanna Hogg. Her debut short as a writer and director, “Olla” (2019), won the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival and was presented at Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight and at Sundance Film Festival. “September Says” is her debut feature film.
