Filmmaker and producer who was born in Greece. Athina graduated in film directing from the University of Texas. She produced, among others, “Kinetta” (2005), “Dogtooth” (2009, 33rd Mostra) and “Alps” (2011), by Yorgos Lanthimos, and “Before Midnight” (2013), by Richard Linklater. She made her debut in feature film direction with “The Slow Business of Going” (2000), a sci-fi road movie shot in nine cities across the world. After that, she directed the features “Attenberg” (2010), presented at the 35th Mostra and awarded at the Venice International Film Festival and at BAFICI, and “Chevalier” (2015), screened at the Locarno Film Festival and at SXSW.
