Born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1988. He graduated in film from PUC-RS University. He directed short films such as “Sem” (2009), “Metrô” (2010) and “De Passagem” (2012), in addition to the feature films “Castanha” (2014, 38th Mostra), presented in film festivals like Berlin, Havana and BAFICI, and “Rifle” (2017), also screened at the Berlinale. In 2018, Pretto was a fellow at the DAAD Berlin Artists-in-Residence.
