Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1990. Her parents are from Cape Verde, and Denise grew up in Switzerland. She directed the short films “Nha Mila” (2020), presented at the Locarno Film Festival, “Idyllium” (2013), “Pan Sin Marmelada” (2012) and “Una Notte” (2011). “Hanami” is her first feature film.
