Eliane Caffé

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1961. Graduated in psychology from the PUC in São Paulo. She took a masters in aesthetics and art theory in Madrid. She began her career as a filmmaker with the shorts "O Nariz" (1987), "Arabesco" (1990, 14th Mostra) and "Caligrama" (1995). In 1997, she made her first feature, "Kenoma" (1997, 22nd Mostra). She later directed "The Storytellers" (2003, 27th Mostra), presented at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, “The Midday Sun” (2009), winner of the critics’ award of best brazilian feature of the 33rd Mostra, and “The Cambridge Squatter” (2016), awarded at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and winner of the audience award of best brazilian feature at the 41st Mostra.
