Born in Brazil in 1978, he graduated from the International School of Film and TV (EICTV), in San Antonio de Los Baños, Cuba, where he directed his first feature film, “Stones in the Sky” (2002), selected for festivals like Venice, Rotterdam and Locarno. Among his works are “Passerby” (2011), “Jards” (2013, 36th Mostra), “Sunday Ball” (2014, 38th Mostra), “Cinema Novo” (2016, 40th Mostra), which received the award for best documentary at the Cannes Film Festival, “Brief Mirage of Sun” (2019, 43rd Mostra), screened at the London Film Festival and which received the award for best film at the IndieLisboa, and “Edna” (2021), presented at the Visions du Réel.
