He graduated in film at the School of Communication and Arts at the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP). Coimbra directed short films such as “O Retrato de Deus quando Jovem” (1996), “Trópico das Cabras” (2007), presented at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, and “Magnífica Desolação” (2010), before debuting in feature films with “A Wolf at the Door (2013, 37th Mostra), awarded at film festivals like San Sebastián, Havana and Guadalajara. He also made “Sand Castle” (2017) and directed episodes of series such as “Narcos” and “Outcast”.
