He is a Portuguese film director and producer, who works between Portugal and Mozambique. Costa studied at Lisbon Theatre and Film School, at University of Cinema, in Buenos Aires, and at Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains, in Tourcoing, France. In 2019 he founded the production company Oublaum Filmes, whose productions were screened in Cannes, Berlin and Locarno film festivals. He directed short films like “Antero” (2014), “Nyo Vweta Nafta” (2017), “Timkat” (2021) and “Domy+Ailucha: Ket Stuff!” (2022), exhibited and awarded at film festivals like Rotterdam, Cinéma du Réel and Visions du Réel, in addition to the documentary “Uproar, Eclipse” (2017). “Alva”, his first feature film, was presented at the 43rd Mostra and at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. “Gold Songs” is his second feature.
