Born in Ecuador, Velasco is a film director and academic. He studied film in Paris and Buenos Aires and completed his PhD at the New Sorbonne University – Paris III, in France. His work explores the aesthetics of Latin American culture and addresses themes such as exile, migration, and colonialism. “Don Goyo” is his first feature film.
