Juho Kuosmanen

Born in Helsinki, Finland, in 1979. He graduated from the ELO Helsinki Film School of Aalto University in 2014. Kuosmanen directed the short movies like “Roadmarkers” (2007) and “Citizens” (2008) and the medium-length film “The Painting Sellers” (2010), which won the first prize in Cannes Cinéfondation. Kuosmanen made the feature films “The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki” (2016, 40th Mostra), winner of the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, and “Compartment No 6” (2021), which received the grand jury prize at the Cannes competition and earned Yuriy Borisov the jury prize for best actor at the 45th Mostra.
