Born in Shizuoka, Japan, in 1983. He studied at Tokyo’s Zokei University and in the directing department of the Graduate School of Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts. He made his debut with the feature film “Voice of Rain That Comes at Night” (2008). “Hold Your Breath Like a Lover” (2014), his graduation work feature film, was screened at the Locarno Film Festival. With Damien Manivel, he directed “The Night I Swan” (2017), presented at the 41st Mostra and at Venice and San Sebastián film festivals.
