Born in Iraq in 1990, she currently lives and works in Vienna, Austria. Kurdwin studied painting and experimental animation at the city’s University of Applied Arts and dramatic arts at its Academy of Fine Arts. In addition to several short films, she made the feature-length documentary “Paradise! Paradise!” (2016), screened at the BAFICI, and fictional feature film “Sun” (2022, 46th Mostra), premiered in the Encounters competition at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the best first feature award.
