Born in Minas Gerais and is based in São Paulo. He worked as an assistant director and casting director in films such as “Tattoo” (2013, 37th Mostra), directed by Hilton Lacerda, “Don’t Call me Son” (2016), by Anna Muylaert, “Aquarius” (2016) and “Bacurau” (2019), both directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho. He directed short films such as “By Your Side” (2011) and “Verona” (2013), both presented at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. His first feature is “Body Electric” (2017), screened at the Bright Future section of the Rotterdam Festival, the San Sebastián International Film Festival and Guadalajara Film Festival, where it won the Maguey Award. He also directed the TV series “Hit Parade” (2021) and “Notícias Populares” (2023). “Baby” is his second feature.
