Born in Brasilia in 1980. She graduated in film from the University of California, in Santa Barbara. Among her works as a filmmaker are the short film “Capoeira, Freedom of the Soul” (2002) and the documentary feature films “O Coco, a Roda, o Pnêu e o Farol” (2007) and “Francisco Brennand” (2012), film about her grand-uncle which won the best Brazilian documentary award at the 36th Mostra. She also made the documentary TV series “Apartamento 302” (2016). Outside the cinematographic field, Marianna continues working to preserve the legacy of her great-uncle’s work, collaborating in the publication of books, in addition to being the current president of the deliberative council of Oficina Francisco Brennand.
