Born in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1957. One of the most important actresses in Serbia, she is known for roles in films like “Petria’s Wreath” (1980, 5th Mostra), by Srdjan Karanovic; “When Father Was Away on Business” (1985, 25th Mostra), by Emir Kusturica; “Grbavica: the Land of My Dreams” (2006), by Jasmila Zbanic, and “The Reaper” (2014, 39th Mostra), by Zvonimir Juric. “A Good Wife” (2016), her first film as a director, was presented at Sundance Film Festival and received an honorable mention from the jury at the 40th Mostra. “Mother Mara” is her second feature film.
