Born in Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1992, and now lives in Vienna, Austria. He studied visual communication and cinema in Kassel, Germany. Among his short films are “The Other Side” (2014), “The Story of the Polar Bear that Went to Africa” (2018), “Life on the Horn” (2022), which received a special mention at the Locarno Film Festival, and “Will My Parents Come to See Me” (2022), screened at Berlin International Film Festival and IndieLisboa, in addition to being awarded as best film at Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. “The Village Next to Paradise” is his feature film debut.
