Patrick Thomas is a filmmaker and media artist. He studied sculpture and media art in Munich, Leipzig, and Lisbon. In 2019, he received a postgraduate research fellowship at USP (University of São Paulo), where he studied resistance in Brazilian cinemas and film clubs. Mathias Reitz Zausinger is a filmmaker, and studied philosophy, history, and visual arts in Berlin, Munich and Lisbon. His documentary projects investigate the persuasive power of narratives and images in moments of political and ideological transformation. “Boalândia” marks the duo’s debut in feature film direction.
