Paulo Abreu

Born in Portugal, in 1964, he is a director and visual artist. Abreu studied film in Lisbon and New York. He worked as a director of photography on films by renowned Portuguese directors such as André Gil Mata, Bruno de Almeida, Jorge Quintela, Luís Alves de Matos, Patrick Mendes and Rodrigo Areias. He has directed films for dance, theater and music shows. He has made numerous experimental films and titles like “Phil Mendrix” (2015), “I Don’t Belong Here” (2017), “Alis Ubbo” (2018) and shorts such as “O Facínora” (2012), presented at the 37th Mostra. “UBU” is his first fiction feature film.
