Born in Mexico City in 1965. One of the most famous directors of photography today, he worked with directors such as Ang Lee, Martin Scorsese, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Oliver Stone, Pedro Almodóvar and Spike Lee, and had his work awarded at film festivals such as San Sebastián and Venice. He was nominated four times for the Academy Award, for the features “Brokeback Mountain” (2005), “Silence” (2016), “The Irishman” (2019) and “Killers of the Flower Moon” (2023). He directed the short films “Semblante” (2013) and “R&R” (2019). “Pedro Páramo” is his first feature film.
