Born in Palestine, Copti is a filmmaker and visual artist. He is a professor at NYU Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. He directed music videos and short films, such as “The Truth” (2003). Alongside Yaron Shani, he co-directed the feature film “Ajami” (2009), which won the Golden Camera at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for best foreign language film. “Happy Holidays” is his second feature film.
