Born in New Jersey, USA, in 1971. He graduated in film at the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. His directorial debut was with the feature “Four Letter Words” (2000), presented at the South by Southwest. He also made works like “Take Out” (2004), presented at BAFICI, “Prince of Broadway” (2008), which received a special mention in the Filmmakers of the Present section of the Locarno Film Festival, “Starlet” (2012), awarded at film festivals like SXSW and Locarno, “Tangerine” (2015), awarded at Mar del Plata and Karlovy Vary film festivals, “The Florida Project” (2017), nominated to the Academy Award for best supporting actor (Willem Dafoe), “Red Rocket” (2021), presented at the competition of the Cannes Film Festival.
