Born in Jiangsu, China, in 1976. She is an independent scriptwriter and filmmaker, who made documentary and fiction films. Yang Yishu is also a professor at the Shanghai Jiaotong University. She directed the feature films “Who is Haoran” (2006), “One Summer” (2014) and “Lush Reeds” (2018), presented at film festivals like Busan and Locarno.
