Born in Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, in 1993. She is a director and screenwriter of films, clips and series. She directed the short films “Kbela” (2015) —awarded for best short film by the African Film Academy—, “Fartura” (2019), “A Vida É Urgente” (2020) and “O Tempo É um Pássaro” (2024). She created and directed the series “Afrotranscendence” and “pretalab” and co- directed the series “Amar É para os Fortes” and “Toda Família Tem”. Yasmin presents a program about cinema on Canal Futura, is a researcher, teacher and lecturer. “Virginia and Adelaide” is her first feature film.
