Born in Japan in 1997, Yoko dropped out of the Nihon University College of Art and was a self-taught filmmaker. She made her directorial debut with the feature film “Amiko” (2017), for which she became the youngest director in history to be invited to the Berlin International Film Festival. “Desert of Namibia” is her second feature film.
