Skin of Glass

Pele de Vidro

Brazil, USA 2023 Documentary cor | p&b 90 min.

A poetic and personal cinematic meditation on change, social inequality and loss, the documentary follows the journey of filmmaker Denise Zmekhol, daughter of architect Roger Zmekhol (1928-1976), as she discovers that her late father’s most famous building, a modernist glass skyscraper in the heart of São Paulo, is occupied by hundreds of homeless families. Delicately interweaving the personal and the political, “Skin of Glass” is a profound and moving reflection on Brazil’s evolution through times of darkness, transformation and rebirth.
