Maila is a basket weaver who lives with his family in a small village, in Nepal. His life changes when a road is built, connecting the village to the modern world. At first, it feels like a blessing. But, with the arrival of buses, sodas, televisions and hip hop, Maila realizes that his traditional life will begin to crumble. He must decide if he will fight to keep his mores or he will go beyond the village to survive. Presented at the Toronto International Film Festival.
