Trapped in the city of Mariupol, a team of Ukrainian journalists struggle to continue their work documenting the Russian invasion. As the only international reporters who remain in the city, they capture the death and destruction of what later becomes some of the defining images of the war. The documentary draws on Chernov’s daily news dispatches and personal footage of his own country at war.
Winner of the Audience Award in the World Cinema Documentary section of the Sundance Film Festival and the Tim Hetherington Award at the Sheffield DocFest.
