Bowery Dish (2004)
Sobre o filme
The site is Bowery, New York, from the point of view of some of the inhabitants. Bruce is one of the oldest Bowery residents; Charlie, a sculptor in metal, lives in a derelict empty building; Dimas, an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, works in a grocer?s; Chris is a young chef with great plans. They are among those describing the appreciation in value of real estate triggered by the advent of fashionable restaurants and bars on the scene and that wrought a change from an extremely degraded area into a district completely renewed. The turnabout generated by the new occupants was followed up over the course of four years, and the documentary was four years in the making.
