When Meena, a 21-year-old woman, falls in love with a man from a lower caste, her enraged family believes she is under the influence of a love spell. They force her to travel to a distant village, where a shaman will break the spell and erase all memories Meena has of the romance. The ritual involves witchcraft and the sacrifice of a rooster. Meena’s future is now dictated by misogynistic patriarchies and their regressive ideologies.
